Cefixime 50 mg + Ofloxacin 50 mg Dry Syrup Uses

Cefixime + Ofloxacin belongs to a group of medications called ‘cephalosporin antibiotics’ primarily the doctor prescribes Cefixime + Ofloxacin for treating typhoid fever and urinary tract infections. It also treats bacterial infections of the prostate, skin, and lungs, sexually transmitted infections like gonorrhea (cervical/urethral), ear infections (acute otitis media), upper respiratory tract infections (URTI), lower respiratory tract infections, tonsillitis (inflammation of the tonsils) and pharyngitis (inflammation of the pharynx). Besides this, it also treats typhoid fever and STDs (sexually transmitted diseases) like chlamydia and gonorrhea. A bacterial infection happens when harmful bacteria enter the body from the mouth, nose, ear, food, etc, and multiply. These harmful bacteria produce toxins that can cause strep throat, urinary tract infection (UTI), bacterial food poisoning, gonorrhea, bacterial meningitis, cellulitis, Lyme disease, and tetanus. This medication cefixime 50mg + Ofloxacin 50mg does not work against viral infections like flu and colds. 

For children – The dosage and durations vary depending on your child’s infection type and severity, age, and weight, so follow the dosage, timing, and route your doctor prescribes. Oral administration should be at the set time, preferably before or after a meal. If your child experiences stomach upset, it is best to administer the product with meals. Vomiting, if your child vomits within 30 minutes after taking the dry syrup, tell your doctor immediately for repeat dose confirmation, but remember do not double the dose if it’s time to take the next dose.

• This medication is only available on prescription by the medical healthcare provider for treating Bacterial infection, Urinary tract infection (UTI), and Typhoid fever, follow the schedule for the best results.
• This medication in the form of dry syrup should not be taken with food in the case of children. 
• Do not use more or less quantity than prescribed, it will not increase the positive effect. 
• Store in a cool and dry place, away from the reach of sunlight, pets, and other family members.
• Check and read the proper directions on the label before use.
• Dissolve and mix the oral suspension in sterile water, and shake the bottle well before use. 

Side effects 

There are no specific serious side effects caused by Cefixime 50 mg + Ofloxacin 50 mg Dry Syrup, some common side effects are toleratable for the children. If side effects do happen, they are likely to go away as your child’s body adjusts to the medication. However, it is important to talk to your child’s doctor if they experience any of the common side effects. Common side effects include:

• Loss of appetite
• Diarrhea
• Upset stomach

Stop this medication if you notice any kind of allergic reaction and tell your medical healthcare expert immediately. 

Precautions

• Do not start or stop giving this medication to your child without a prescription or by yourself. 
• Do not use more or less quantity, it can be dangerous for health conditions.
